SENIOR STAFF

 

Carol Maxwell Rezabek, MFA

Carol began her training in Cedar Rapids with Dieman-Bennett dancer Linda Earley. She earned her BFA with honors in dance performance from The University of Iowa and her MFA in dance directing from The Ohio State University. At Iowa, she trained under Francoise Martinet, studied with numerous guest teachers and performed in landmark events such as the Dancers to Go (Dancers In Company) tour to Hong Kong and the Gala performances of Con Amore and Stars and Stripes. A certified teacher of Labanotation, she completed notator training at The Dance Notation Bureau. Carol's focus is teaching ballet and modern and coaching the performance ensembles at the Ballet Academy Inc. She also teaches and choreographs for the theatre department at Coe College. Her choreography has been performed by Dancers To Go, Theatre Cedar Rapids, Classics at Brucemore, The Cedar Rapids Summer Players, the Cedar Rapids Symphony Guild's Follies, and at the American College Dance Festival. Carol is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

 

Suki Morrissey, BA

Suki received her training at Ballet West in Utah and Dieman-Bennett Academy in Cedar Rapids. She was a featured soloist with the Dance Theatre of the Hemispheres for over 20 years. Suki has a special interest in liturgical dance and creates liturgical dance for local church services. She teaches intermediate through advanced ballet and pointe at The Ballet Academy, Inc.

 

Patricia Offt, BA

Patricia Offt received her early training at Dieman-Bennett Academy in Cedar Rapids, and went on to minor in dance at the University of Iowa, where she was a member of the University of Iowa Dance Company. She then went on to teach dance in Chicago and was head of ballet at the Academy for the Performing Arts in the Quad Cities. Patricia's teaching is certified through Dance Educators of America, sanctioned by the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Patricia’s experience in teaching includes tap, jazz, modern, tumbling, and ballet, and she has choreographed liturgical and show choir pieces.

Kathryn Ross

Kathryn is a graduate of The Ballet Academy, Inc. program who is being mentored as our Pre-Primary Ballet and Modern I teacher at the Academy. Kathryn attends Kirkwood College.

 

Joel Keitsu Sorenson

The Ballet Academy, Inc. wishes Keitsu well at The University of Iowa, and thank him for sending us our new hip-hop teacher...

 

Rock Tai

Rock is our new hip-hop teacher. He is a member of Keitsu's Intermix Crew.
